Betty K. Alpeter, 88 of North Canton formerly of Beach City, passed away Thursday evening at her residence. She was born at Dover, the daughter of the late George T. and Clara Welsch Rieger and had been a Beach City resident 63 years. Betty retired from Fairless High School in 1985, where she had been a cook and custodian. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary both of Beach City and was an avid quilter and card player. She was preceded by her husband Wayne Nov. 19, 2001, an infant son and sister Ruth Sieber. Surviving are 3 sons and daughters in law; Galen (Cindy) Alpeter of North Canton, Dennis (Carol) Alpeter of Boyne City, Mich.; Donis (Sylvia) Alpeter of Paris, Oh.; 2 brothers, Ray and Don Rieger both of Dover 3 sisters, Kathryn Bixler and Lydia Murphy both of Beach City and Joyce Espenschied of Dover; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Pastor David Craig officiating. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Friends may call Tuesday August 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to service.
