Betty (Becky) R Raisner

Betty (Becky) Rebecca Raff Raisner went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2017. Becky was born in Beach City, Ohio, on September 7, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Norwood and Ada Raff. Becky was preceded in death by her husband Giles (Gil) Raisner, Jr. and their son Mark Alan Raisner. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Beulah Derrick and Bonnie Roseman, her brothers, Richard Raff, John Raff and Bob Raff. Becky is survived by her siblings Norwada Croskey and Jack Raff. Becky graduated from Beach City High School in 1946 where she was valedictorian of her class. She was honored at her graduation for perfect attendance for 12 years. After working at Timken Roller Bearing Company, she entered Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing. She attended Kent State University and Akron University. She became an instructor of nursing students. Becky later worked for Dr. Donald Pocock of Massillon. Becky attended Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon. She served on the Muskingum Valley Presbytery. She was a life-long member of Massillon Community School of Nursing. Becky served on the Massillon Museums Women’s Board, the Canton Symphony League, and the Spring Hill Historic Home Board. She was also a Spring Hill Historic Home Board of Trustees member. She volunteered at Wesley United Methodist Church Adventure Club. Per Becky’s wishes, the are no calling hours. A private graveside service was held at South Lawn Cemetery in Beach City. Rev. Larry LaLama of Central Presbyterian Church officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be give to Stark Community Foundation for the Central Presbyterian Church Raff-Raisner Family Scholarship Fund.
