Sally Ann Nofsinger

Sally Ann Nofsinger, 72 of Beach City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Affinity Medical Center on Saturday, April 2, 2011, after a lengthy illness. A daughter of the late Woodrow W. Stutz and AnnaBelle Meese Stutz, Sally was a life-long resident of Beach City. Sally married Dwight L. Nofsinger, the love of her life, on Valentine’s Day 1964 and recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by her daughters and their families: Laura (Jim) Lindon of New philadelphia and Melissa (Brian) Unklesby of Beach City. Two precious grandchildren, Jaelle Lindon and Brandon Unklesby, complete the family. Other survivors include her sister and best friend, Kay (Gary) Tucker of Beach City and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews. Sally was a graduate of Beach City High School Class of 1956. Sally and Dwight owned and operated Nofsinger Floral Shoppe and Greenhouse in Beach City for more than 20 years. After closing that chapter in her life, Sally went to work as a floral designer first at Easterday’s Floral shop and then at All Occasions Flowers and Gifts until spring of 2009. Above all else Sally loved spending time with her family and friends. Most summer weekends found her at the family camper surrounded by those she loved. She and Dwight also shared a love of travel, most recently visiting Alaska, Italy, and Greece. Sally was an active member of Beach City Pythian Sisters and Bolivar Chapter #368 Order of Eastern Star. In addition Sally and her classmates gathered once a month for dinner. When the girls were young, she was a girl scout leader, softball coach, and a member of the BCVFD Ladies’ Auxiliary. Lantzer Funeral Home in Beach City is handling the arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday fro 2 - 4 and 6 - 8. Tuesday a Pythian Sister service will be held at 1:45 pm. and Eastern Star Service at 5:45 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am with family friend Rick Slayman officiating. Interment at South Lawn Cemetery will follow the service.
