Robert E. (Slats) Slayman

Robert E. (Slats) Slayman, 80 of Beach City passed away Fri., Sept. 26, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Canton following a brief illness. He was born at Beach City, the son of the late Harry D. and Nellie M. Bratton Slayman and had been a life resident of Beach City. Bob retired in 1970 from the Wooster Brush Company and had driven truck for Regula Transport of Beach City. He served his country as a Marine in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 549 of Beach City. He attended First Lutheran Church, Beach City. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy J. Miller Slayman of the residence, whom he married June 19, 1949. Sisters and brother, Mabel Kandell, Harry Slayman, Jr., Nancy Fox all of Beach City and Betty Neidenthal of Strasburg. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by 1 sister, Clara Jane Hill and 1 brother, Paul Slayman. Services will be held, Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, P.O.
