Rhea S. Forney

Rhea S. Forney 100, of Navarre, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 following a brief illness. She was born at Prague, Ok., the daughter of the late Walter Henry and Maude Page Dietrich. She had resided in Navarre since 1996 and was formerly of Beach City. Rhea was a homemaker and had worked at Cambridge Glass and Massillon State Hospital in the nurses kitchen. She was a member of Church of Christ at Massillon and a former member of Beach City Pythian Sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Robert Hayes Forney, Feb. 1994 and 3 brothers. Surviving are 2 daughters, Alice J. Benedict of Eureka, Mont. and Donna M. Kerby of Navarre; 1 son and daughter in law, Walter and Michal Forney of Navarre; 1 brother, Louis Dietrich of Barnesville, Oh. and 1 sister Dorothy Dietrich of Bradenton, Fla.; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. A celebration of Rhea’s life will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Glenn Hawkins officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
