Karen Jean Ewing, 67 of Brewster passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 following a brief illness. She was born at Dover, the daughter of the late Jesse and Jean (Carter) Burris and a Brewster resident over 50 years. Karen retired from Navarre Industries where she was a laborer and was a member of the Strasburg Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Donald F. Ewing, whom she married Oct. 25, 1962; 2 sons and daughter in law, Donald F. (Robin) Ewing Jr. of Ashland, Kevin J. Ewing of Beach City; 2 granddaughters, Alicia S. Ewing and Bambi Ewing; 1 grandson, Joshua D, Ewing (fiancé Courtney) and 1 great granddaughter, Elizabeth Ewing. Karen was preceded by 4 brothers, Pat, Glenn, Paul and Jim and 4 sisters Viola, Violet, Deloris and Kathryn. A service celebrating Karen’s life will be held, Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Pastor Douglas McFadden officiating. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City, Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday November 29, 2012.
