Ernest J. Gemma, 76, of Canton formerly of Wilmot entered Heaven’s Gates on February 15, 2014 with his wife Dora and son, daughter -in- law, granddaughter and her fiancee at his side. Ernie was born at Canton, the son of the late Ernest Sr. and Mary France Gemma and had been a Canton resident the last 10 years. A 1955 graduate of the former Beach City High School, he had been an appliance sales associate at Sears Massillon store and retiring from Sears Belden Village in 1992. Ernie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Massillon and enjoyed his time with the coffee group at the Massillon McDonald’s. He is survived by his wife, Dora (Garver) Gemma, whom he married March 7, 1959. 1 son and daughter in law, Ronald and Linda Gemma of Canal Fulton; 1 grand daughter and her fiancee, Candace Gemma and Justin Carter of Canal Fulton; 1 brother and sister in law, Richard (Dick) & Val Gemma of Wilmot, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by 3 sisters, Frances Gemma, Virginia Dziegeleski and Theresa Grove. A celebration of Ernie’s life will be held, Wednesday, February 19th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in St. John Lutheran Church, 1930 Wales Rd. N.E. Massillon, with Rev. John Telloni officiating. entombment in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in LANTZER FUNERAL HOME, 230 2nd. Ave. S.E., Beach City, Ohio.
