Hazel L. Bryan, 83, of Beach City died Thursday at Affinity Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in New Cumberland, W.V., Hazel L. Smith-Bryan was one of nine children, daughter of Garnet I. Hart-Smith and Joseph K. Smith. She was a wonderful mother of five children and a loving wife to Samuel J. Bryan, whom she married May 27, 1949. She was a resident of Beach City for 31 years. She is proceeded in death by her husband Samuel J. Bryan, 1 son, Michael J. Bryan, her parents, and seven siblings. She is survived by; one sister; Donna Mae Smith-Allison. Four children; Kathy (Dave) Wells of New Phila, Don (Barb) Bryan of Sherrodsville, Deb(Tom) Carney of Dennison, and Jeanie McClain of Beach City. Nine Grandchildren; Carol Bryan, Don(Barb) Bryan, JR., Lisa(Rich) Emig, Amanda Thornsely, Lori Ross, Ivie (Merle) Beckley, Yvette (Brian) Schupbach, Loren Carney, and Kayla McClain. Seventeen Great Grandchildren, and Nine Great-Great Grandchildren. Her beloved dog, Kash. Numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Lantzer Funeral Home in Beach City on Friday, August 8th. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5-7p.m. on Friday.
