Glen Elmer Lang, 86, of Longmont Co. passed way Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home. He was born March 24, 1928 in Shelbyville, W. Va., the son of the late Gilbert and Dorothy Ramsey Lang. Glen was an Army Veteran serving in Korea and member of the American Legion. He retired as a crane operator after 42 years of dedicated service from Timken Roller Bearing in Canton. In retirement, they gave of themselves as volunteers through Equip International, spending many years in Marion, North Carolina where he was an instructor in animal husbandry. In 2012 they moved from Marion, N. Car. to Longmont, Co. He had been a member of Faith Community Church in Canton, Providence United Methodist Church in Marion and Rocky Mountain Bible Baptist Church in Longmont. A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, Glen loved providing for his family. Surviving are his wife, Roberta Schwartz Lang, whom he married December 26, 1954; children Deborah (Lloyd) Bailey, Evelyn (Steve) Collins, Elaine Mitchell, Richard Lang and Rob (Vanessa) Lang; fifteen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two brothers Hartsel and Ernie Lang and one sister Shirley Jeffries. In addition to his parents he was preceded by five brothers and three sisters. A celebration of life service will be held, January 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with Pastor Scott Wright officiating. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Friends may call January 6, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to service.
