Thomas R. Ackerman

Thomas R. Ackerman, 77 of Dover passed away at his residence with his loving family at his side, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born at Morgantown, W. Va., the son of the late Thomas W. and Janice Atkinson Ackerman. Tom retired in 1999 from Norfolk and Southern Railway in Brewster where he was an engineer. He is survived by his wife, Janet Little Ackerman whom he married February 24, 1957; children Tangie L. (Robert ,W.) Judy of Winder, Ga., Randy D. (Sue) Ackerman of Massillon, Thomas M (Kristi) Ackerman of Massillon, Dawn R. (Dave) Maybaugh of Brewster, James (Tammy) Baus of Massillon; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Wendell of Navarre, one brother, Gerald Ackerman of Canton and one sister - in - law Kim Ackerman of Massillon. Preceded in death by brother Daniel M Ackerman, and Sister-In-Law Diann J Ackerman. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 Basin St. NW, Navarre, Oh with Pastor Dave West officiating.
