Dorothy J. Slayman, 87 of Beach City, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar following a period of declining health. She was born at Massillon, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Viola Gardner Miller and had been a life resident of Beach City. She retired from the Beach City Post Office where she was the clerk. Dorothy was a member of First Lutheran Church and Pythian Sisters both of Beach City. She was preceded by her husband, Robert E. Slayman, Sept. 26, 2008, one sister, Joan; and one brother, George. She is survived by one brother and sister in law, John J. and Barbara Miller of Dysart, Ia., brothers in law and sisters in law of the area, nieces and nephews. Services will be held, Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with nephew Richard Slayman officiating.
