Geraldine (Gerri) S. Shamp, 66 of Navarre formerly of Beach City passed away, December 31, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born at Denver, Colo., the daughter of the late John and Lydia Kahm Miller and had been a resident of the area since 1969. Gerri had been a Specialist serving with the United States Army and had retired from North East Visiting Nurses of North Canton. She is survived by her husband, Clifford J. Shamp, whom she married Jan. 25k 1969; one daughter and son in law, Stephanie (Mac) McLaughlin of Louisville, Oh., one son and daughter in law, Cliff ( C.J.) and Trisha Shamp of Goshen, Oh., 5 grandchildren, siblings, Rose Maria (Emmett) Horst, Chris Deitz, Ray (Sharon) Miller, Ruth Miller all of Colorado, Lorraine Miller of Wyoming. Gerri was preceded by one daughter Michelle Maurer and one sister Lydia cooper Muniz and two brothers Joe and John Miller. a memorial celebration of Gerri’s life will be held, January 6, 2016 at 8 p.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with her niece, Kathy Specht officiating. Inurnment will be made in Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Oh. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. prior to service.
