Carol J. East 76 of Beach City, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was born at Winesburg, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Mathias Sigrist and a life resident of the area. She had been Clerk/ treasurer of the village of Beach City and also was secretary/pianist /children choir director for the United Methodist Church, Beach City and for twenty-five years was local correspondent for the Evening Independent and the Times Reporter newspapers. On July 7, 1959, she married Kenneth E. East, he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey East of Brewster and Timothy (Jennifer) East of Champagne, Ill., one daughter, Jennifer (Tom) Hamilton of Canal Fulton, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren. two brothers are deceased. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
