Robert D. Widder, 80 of Beach City passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 following a period of declining health. He was born at Beach City, the son of the late Charles and Goldie Giaque Widder and had been a life resident. Bob retired as a truck driver for Flemming Foods. He was a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church and a former member of the Beach City Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sisters, Fern Fair and Betty Griffith. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jean Froelich Widder, whom he married October 23, 1957; children, Bruce (Jo) Widder of New Philadelphia, Bonnie (John) Hastedt of Alabama, Barbara (Tom) Tucker, Barre Widder and Beth Widder all of Beach City, one sister, Donna Rittmaier and one brother Harold (Sam) Widder; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held, Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Oh 44663.
