Marie Margaret Ann Cecelia Jacobs Justice went home on February 11, 2023. She was 90 years young. The daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Jacobs. Marie was a longtime resident of Massillon, Ohio. As a child, Marie and her siblings attended St. Mary’s church and later their school forming bonds with many years of memories. Later she would attend Massillon Highschool, forever becoming a Massillon Tiger. Marie was proud of her siblings and always made sure the younger generation knew their stories. As one of 16 children family was most important and always came first. From family reunions, euchre card nights, or simply sewing a new outfit for a special occasion she made sure family culture was passed down through the generations. On November 14, 1953 Marie married the love of her life John E. Justice Jr. Together they had four boys, John III, Douglas, Roger, and Steven Sr. Marie raised her family in Beach City, Ohio making even more memories. That family grew to 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Marie retired from the Massillon State Hospital in 1997 where she was a cook. She spent her time there spreading her love through cooking for those who stayed there. Later Marie would work her semi-retired years at the Colonade room and Russell House. Always making sure the head table was served. Marie loved to knit, crochet, and sew. She was always excited to make a new baby blanket, winter socks, animal hat, or any request a grandchild had. Marie was a lifelong connoisseur of the theatre. She spent several years being the local songbird with many womens barbershop chorus, including the Sweet Adelines, Lincoln Ladies, and Massillon Womens Chorus. She would sing with friends and family for many years. Marie was a quiet love force who planted roots to a beautiful family whom she revered. Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother she will be forever missed. Marie followed her husband John Jr, sons John III, Doug, and Steve, a great grandson Remington James as well as 7 sisters, 6 brothers and her parents to heavens gate. She is survived by her son Roger Lee Justice. Sister Betty Dennis and brother Sonny Jacobs. 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews galore and those who have become family over the years. Services will be held February 22, 2023 at at Lantzer Funeral Home in Beach City, Ohio. All those whom Marie loved may call from 12-2 with funeral service following. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetary, where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband and boys.
