Janine L. Spurgeon, of Navarre, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar, following a period of declining health. A service celebrating Janine's life will be Thursday, April 25th at 11am at Lantzer Funeral Home in Beach City with Pastor Matt Wald officiating. Friends and family may call Thursday, April 25th from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmot to follow the service. She was born on September 7, 1941, in Massillon to Carol Bair Crecco Sigrist and Vincent Crecco and had lived all of her life in the area. In addition to being a sweet, wonderful, and generous Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, she served as a bus driver and custodian for Fairless schools for 23 years, ending in retirement. She was a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church and attended the Fohl United Methodist Church, dedicating her life to serving our Lord God and nurturing her many, many friendships. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters of Beach City. In her youth, she was a 4-H member and advisor, was elected Prom queen, played the accordion, was a high school thespian, worked for the H&G Restaurant in Beach City, and worked for the Timken Company. She loved her family and many friends and loved to laugh. Many people remember her always with a smile on her face and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by two sons, Brian (Christine) Spurgeon of Florence, AZ, and Brett (Pamela) Spurgeon of Powell, Ohio; a daughter, Linda (Rodney Rice) Sullivan of Navarre, and a brother, Vincent (Virginia) Crecco of Snohomish, WA; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Spurgeon, two brothers, Ron Crecco and Dan Crecco, and a grandson, Brandon Wilds.
