Rhea Eileen Cantleberry, 88 of Navarre, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2024, having been under hospice care for the past fifteen months. She was born on March 13, 1936, at the Meyer Farm in Navarre, Ohio, youngest daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret (Charton) Numbers. Rhea graduated from Beach City High School and attended Kent State University, receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. She taught elementary and special education in the Fairless Local School District for over thirty years until her retirement in 1994. Rhea was a very creative person who enjoyed sewing, knitting and painting. She was devoted to her family and friends – her grandchildren were the light of her life. Rhea is survived by her daughters, Jill Cantleberry and Jodi (John) Lasher; grandchildren, Jason Lasher, Justin (Ashley) Lasher, Molly Everett and Ryan Everett; son-in-law Casey Everett and sisters-in law, Sandra Cantleberry and Sue Jamison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Cantleberry; daughter, Shelly Everett; sister Betty Lou (Merl) Savage and brothers, Charles (Wanda) Numbers and Ronald (Carol) Numbers. Visitation to be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the funeral service on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Hospice.
