Treva E. Fahrney

Treva E. Fahrney, 86 formerly of Beach City passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Affinity Hospital following a brief illness. She was born at Beach City, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lena Grueneisen Manbeck and had been a life resident of the area. Treva had been a cook at the Apple Creek Institute and retired from Country Lawn as an aide. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Beach City and Massillon AARP. She was preceded by her husband, Carl E. Fahrney, March 17, 1997, 1 daughter Sharon Barkan, 1 son Thomas Fahrney and 1 sister Arlene Shue. Treva is survived by daughters and sons in law, Charlotte (Robert) Welch of Millersburg, Karen (Steve) French of Concord, N. Car., Penny Spry of Brewster; son and daughter in law, Gary (Gail) Fahrney of Mineral City, daughter in law, Patty Fahrney of Massillon and son in law, Richard Barkan of Bolivar; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Main St. Beach City with Pastor Orion Aubihl officiating. Interment will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Friends may call, Friday July 23, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City.
