James A. Runyon, 68 of Beach City passed away Sunday March 13, 2011 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born April 28, 1942 at Sylvester, W. Va., the son of the late James W. and Minnie Bair Runyon and had been an area resident 53 years. Jim retired in 1988 from the former Norfolk & Southern Railroad, Brewster where he was a carman/welder. Surviving are his wife Betty Gaut Runyon whom he married August 7, 1963 of the residence. 5 sisters, Mary (George) Aleksin of Akron, Thelma (Kenny) Jackson of Magadore, Nola M. Matheny of Cuyahoga Falls, Linda (Don) Mathey of Navarre, Marlene (Willard) Funk of Rochester Hills, Michigan and 1 brother David (Janet) Runyon of Strasburg, nieces and nephews. Special friends, Keith Wiles, Jack Dibell, Roy Newsome, Ralph Gaut and Bill Gaut. Son David Gaut and 2 brothers Paul Lee and William Eugene Runyon are deceased. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. Interment will be made in East Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 and Wednesday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home.
