Robert Nelson Snyder, Jr. 82 of Strasburg passed away Saturday with his family at his side. Robert was born at Auburn, Indiana, the son of the late Robert Nelson Sr. and Bertha Mae Moran Snyder. Robert retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railway, Brewster where he had been a dispatcher 42 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bolivar and an ardent golfer and gardener. In addition to his parents he was preceded by two brothers, Richard and Timothy Snyder. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Alyce Ann Atkinson of the residence. Three daughters and sons in law, Kimberly (Gary) Pohovey of Strasburg, Kristen (Greg) Wood of Massillon and Kelly (Rick) Patterson of Navarre, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A service celebrating Robert’s life will be held Wednesday, August 11th. at 7 p.m. in Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City. Friends may call from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
